Weekend in Review

We had a busy but great weekend. Saturday morning I tried to sell baby items at a mom to mom sale in Zeeland with my friend Maggie. Unfortunately, they didn't advertise enough or something because hardly any one showed up. I am pretty sure that the sellers gave each other just about all the business and I am confident I came home with more than I started with....oops! After the sale I went to the Holland Fish and Game club to meet up with Sonya (Jeremiah's sister) and Bride to be. Her and her fiance Marc were there along with other friends/bridesmaids to check out the room take measurements etc. From there picked up Jeremiah and the kiddos and went to Jeremiah's parents to go through the wedding weekend details. We enjoyed burgers on the grill and just hang out time.
It was pouring rain as we were leaving and trying to get the kids in car seats. Jeremiah dropped something and said "oh shi*" and immediately Owen said "shi*, shi*" We were both laughing so hard....this no laughing thing when kids say something they shouldn't is tough! Immediately, I said ya, sit - you are sitting in your car seat. So now both Owen and Kennedy can say "sit" pretty well :) Today, I along with Sonya's mom hosted a bridal shower for Sonya. I think it was a great time had by all. It had been awhile since I was in charge of a bridal shower so it was really fun finding games and making favors.

These are the gorgeous 6ft skinny girls that I am standing up with in the wedding - I hope I don't look like a meatball in all the pics!
Jeremiah was a trooper all weekend taking care of the kids nearly by himself Friday, Saturday and Sunday - with a broken leg! Thanks babe. Kennedy couldn't let him get off to easy. She loves to play in the lazy susan and apparently found the Cheerios so while Jeremiah ran out to the freezer for a second, he returned to find this.

Lions and Tigers and Bears- Oh my!

Yesterday was a perfect day for a trip to the zoo!
Owen loved all the fish

Kennedy preferred to play on the stairs

and daddy was scoping out a way to touch a penguin (yes, he succeeded)

The bear was very playful and even took a dip in the "baf" (bath)

One snow leopard was snoring as the other looked to be hacking up a hairball - just kidding he was yawning

silence -taking it all in

looking at the ducks

deciding where to have mom chase me next

petting zoo was closed but all the animals seemed to be very lonely because they were very interested in us. Kennedy thought it was hysterical. I wish I would have had the video camera to capture all her giggles. Owen managed to lean forward far enough to get a kiss from a goat.

the monkeys were very interested in Owen and Kennedy's snack

family pic - NEVER turns out

We had a great time and hope to buy a membership so we can go a lot more.

The other day as I was doing piles of laundry I left the dryer open for just a second and when I returned this is what I found.

Visit with friends

Saturday afternoon our good friends Eric, Kristin and their son Milo came from Chicago to visit us and our friends Beth & Bob and their kids Vera and Finn. We had a great time together! It was a beautiful Saturday so we we spent lots of time outside. We went to a park for a bit and just had fun catching up! Even though Bob and Beth live right down the road we don't see them that often so it was great to hang out with them too. Thanks for visiting! We can't wait to see you again soon!

Finn cuddling with Kristin

Vera having fun on the swing- Love that her shoes are on the wrong feet!

Owen in a tunnel - he ended up getting stuck and it took Jeremiah and I and a helpful stranger and his daughter to get him out

Kids in the toybox (Finn, Owen, Kennedy & Milo)

precious and VERY happy Milo - he has the most adorable squeaky noises.

Peas and Carrots

Monday as I was getting chicken out of the freezer Kennedy grabbed something. I din't think much of it because both kids love ice cubes so after I put the chicken down I went to check out what they were doing and this is what I found. Don't worry I was folding laundry on the couch so the socks are clean.

Easter 2009

Well, I am bit under the weather so I am sorry I have not posted these until now. We had a busy Easter weekend and it was tons of fun. We went to G & G Little's on Saturday with both great grandmas and Aunt Sonya. Owen was not quite his happy self and threw quite a few violent temper tantrums but you would never guess it from the pictures.

Easter gift from G & G Little - sidewalk chalk! Sonya and Grandma played with them

opening Easter baskets Easter morning

yum I found a jelly bean

Don't worry all candy in the Little household is bagged up and ready to send somewhere else. We are giving up Candy until Sonya's wedding (July 2). We don't need it and the kids sure don't need extra sugar either.

After church on Easter we went to G & G Ruiters the kids loved lounging on Grandma's new Adirondack chairs

what a beautiful sunny day

that's enough lets get going

hi dada

Owen has been a mama's boy lately...this is a few minutes after another tantrum. I have read so many websites and books to try and help this little guy. Unfortunately, there is not much to do before the age of 2 because there is really no way to know if he understands. If ANYONE has any advise to help Owen and his violent tantrums please comment...it would be much appreciated. He pushes his sister, rips out my earrings, throws himself down an puts himself in danger often!

Sorry for the long post with lots of pictures AGAIN. I wish we would have remembered to take pictures of everyone.....what were we thinking!..or at least a family photo would have been nice.

Easter eggs, Easter bunny & Childrens museum

I thought it would be fun to make Easter eggs this year. The kids liked it for about 1.2 seconds because they could only watch mommy & daddy dye the egss. I was going to have them put stickers on the eggs but Kennedy thought they wee more fun to eat (the stickers). Owen thought it was funny to drop the eggs....so you can imagine what fun it was!

this is typically Kennedy face when she wants something

trying to put stickers on the egg

this is what the next few minutes looked like

soo we got ready for bed and read Biscuit's Pet and Play Easter

That cheered him right up!

Tonight we met Sonya and Grandma Little at Rivertown for a bit and we saw the Easter Bunny! Owen and Kennedy did great...they weren't scared but weren't really sure about smiling for mom & dad.

I thought Owen was going to pull his head off

Yesterday we went to the Children's museum for the first time. It was a lot of fun but it was busy, I think everyone else had the same idea.

Owen's new word is "wow" that is what he is saying here

look how cool this is!

I see you

bubbles....this was Kennedy's favorite we were probably playing for 30 minutes. She loved them so much that she ate them!

"wow" look at dad

What a fun day....even if the kids didn't want to nap when we got home :)
