Birthday Celebrations

Friday was Owen and Kennedy's 3rd Birthday. Since they LOVE the water Jeremiah and I decided to take them to an indoor water park / hotel not to far away. We let them open their gifts before we hopped in the car. On the way we stopped to Applebee's for lunch. We went to Red Robin for my cousin Amy's Birthday in June and Owen and Kennedy thought it was pretty cool that they sang to her so we thought it might be fun to have them sing to them. They received a birthday Sundae as well so that was a treat! The kids slept well in the car on the way up and after we settled into our room we put our bathing suits on and headed to the water park. We had a lot of fun playing in the water. They didn't have whole lot for kids their age but Owen and Kennedy just like jumping in the water anyway. We did do the lazy river a couple hundred times and the wave pool, toddler pool and splash zone. After a good 4 hours in the pool area we went to dinner and the server mentioned that they each got cake for their birthday....little did we know she brought them each A cake. Yup, two exhausted children in a new place on a complete sugar high.....not a great idea!! We let them eat part of their cake and went to story time where they were the only kids and they loved it. We drove around awhile hoping to have them fall asleep and transfer them from the car to the bed. Unfortunately, that always sounds easier than what it is. Kennedy ended up being awake until about 12:30! Then she woke up at 1:25...really fun times! The next morning after a few successful hours of sleep we went to the water park again for a few hours before heading home. We don't have very many photos of the water park because our lens steamed up so the photos we do have our from our phones.

Opening presents. They got Pj's, a fun towel and Owen got a dump truck and Kennedy got doll house furniture.

Kennedy did not like crossing the bridge

Owen loved squirting daddy on the tube

The morning before the water park we took advantage of the jacuzzui tub in the room. Jets make a lot of bubbles with shampoo (we didn't have bubble bath, ha!).

On Sunday we had a small birthday party with grandparent and great grandma's. Owen wanted a Lightning McQueen cake and Kennedy wanted a princess cake.

Owen got a bit shy as we were singing
